I am a millennial. Yes, and I apologize in advance. I know our generation gets a bad rap these days. Un-motivated, self-righteous, entitled, lazy, socialists, the list goes on for days. I’m 27 years old and probably severely under-qualified for almost everything you’re going to read in the future of this blog.

It was 1/29/2016 when I made the decision to start on my path to financial independence or FI for short.  I’ll call it my late New Years resolution. The idea being, to save enough money to afford to live without a full time job whilst being able to travel, explore, and meet people and ideas I never would have otherwise.

I am trying to save over 30% of my income each month and putting 100% into the stock market since my timeline is longer than someone starting in their 40’s or later.
